Tackling Water Shortage in Odwayene District, Somaliland :

In 2016/17 Somaliland has suffered consecutive poor rainy seasons causing a severe water shortage in Odweyne district, African Relief Agency working in the partnership with the local community and Somaliland Youth Development and voluntary Organisation (Soydavo) to help the local community to recover form drought by rehabilitation wells. A poor rainy season always threatens the lives and livelihoods of thousands of poor households. The effects of poor rain seasons are namely disappointing harvests and rising food and water prices . The project constructed 2 shallow wells in Beerato River Bed and cost $ 10,002 (clip for details).
