Access to Basic Education in Rural Areas :

Globally is estimated that 250 million children are not learning basic literacy and numeracy skills, In the village of Gorgor located in Gashamo district in Ethiopia, African Relief built a learning centre consisting of two class- rooms for children to learn how to read and write, this was a part of the fighting illiteracy program in rural areas. Currently 130 students use the facility and there is need for expansion to accommodate the increasing number of students. I cost $ 7,000 to build the centre. Through our program, we are working with local community to improve children reading and numeracy skills.
